Webmail addresses seem to be particularly bad for this (hotmail, aol, yahoo, etc...). AOL had a situation a while back where an employee sold several million addresses to spammers for money and even if it wasn't done by this manner, it is very possible someone has harvested your address. The only known cure (AFAIK) is to get another address once this one becomes unbearable for spam. (And to be careful about how you use an important address that you might need for example for work...I have seen several people try to get around this by using only dedicated list or web addresses (i.e. [EMAIL PROTECTED]) for lists or other surfing where the address are more likely to be harvested and that way once the address is spammed to death they simply drop it and get another. Googling for your address doesn't seem to bring up much other than the mailing lists so it doesn't seem to be that widely spread yet... But hell, I'm no expert...someone else have a go?
