I was going to install X11 about six months ago. I seem to remember I gave up because it requires 10.3, not the 10.2.8 I have.

The original X11 beta was for Jaguar, which is why I have it installed. I think Apple just took away all links to the download when Panther was released. If I can find the installer I will stick it online and post the location here.


Unfortunately the FreeCiv 2 OS X download is advertised as 10.3 or above so I have not tried it. There should not be any reason why it would not compile from source though if you are technically minded enough to do that. I have had Freeciv 1.4 installed for quite a while but I did that via either Fink or Darwinports.

Those with Panther though should be able to install X11 from their original OS X CDs.
