Deleting /Library/Caches/com.apple.LaunchServices.LocalCache.csstore ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.LaunchServices.UserCache.csstore ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices.plist
I initially just removed the latter two to no avail, then when hunting for the first of the three I couldn't find a file with that exact name, but there were a couple that matched com.apple.LaunchServices* so I trashed those.
