The IA64 is the Itanium, isn't it? As opposed to the Intel EM64T, which is the Pentium 4 with 64-bits bolted on that's competing with the AMD stuff? I've been keeping an eye on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (the 64- bit version of Windows that's just been released) because no doubt one of my clients will buy it sooner or later and try running some of the old legacy 16-bit software on it. Which won't work*. Anyhow, there's currently no planned release for the Itanium/IA64, which makes me wonder like you what the future of the chip is beyond the small server platform percentage it currently has. Neil * - plus, for all those who struggled with drivers in the early days of OSX, take heart in the fact that early x64 Edition adopters are having the same problem. -- Mac UK is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Mac UK list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/mac-uk.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[email protected]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-uk%40mail.maclaunch.com/> iPod Accessories for Less at 1-800-iPOD.COM Fast Delivery, Low Price, Good Deal www.1800ipod.com
