This is a fairly random enquiry but I hope someone will be able to help and that I will be forgiven for being a bit off topic:

I never use the Feedback button in the dock but quit fancy purloining the "@" on a spring for other purposes but cannot find a way of doing so. Can anyone guide me to the icon box in the bowels of the system where I can clone it for use?

The other question concerns a photo, or rather a series of photos which have been damaged and are irreplaceable. The damage manifests itself like pixellation but if you zoom in tight you can see that it is divided up into little boxes but each box contains distinct little bits of the picture. That is, it is not a case of pixels bunching together in a similar rendering and thus losing a lot of the photo information, it is more like it has been sliced up into a tiny grid. I suspect that if I was able t run some kind of interpolation filter I would be able to get the pictures back in some usable form if not perfect but I have no idea how to do this or what with.

It is a few years since data has been damaged like this but it always makes me very nervous of relying on a CD backup. My old films have been all over the place with me but still remain in good enough order to yield a good picture from a good scan.

TIA

Drew
