Ho,

I wondered if anyone had any ideas about this problem. I have spent many hours trying to fix it and my daughter has to take her iBook away for a few weeks tomorrow morning, so I am up against it.

The system is on its latest update but, for some reason, Safari cannot play any QuickTime movies. QuickTime works and movie trailers can play in iTunes but every QT film in Safari just gives us the big blue Q with a question mark overlaying it.

I have checked the plug ins are there. I have reinstalled QT7.03, I have chucked out the Safari prefs and the QT plug ins prefs and i have made sure the plugins are activated in the prefs. All to no avail. I have tried opening the same movies on another computer with exactly the same set up and they work fine.

My daughter thinks it may have become a problem after installing Real Player but I can't see any Real Player prefs which allow you to choose Real Player as the default player or anything like it which might make it override QT.

If anyone has any ideas or has heard of this problem before, please let me know.

Many thanks.

Drew
