Out of curiosity have you checked to see if the improved machine specs allows the better graphics used in Tiger (can't remember what it was called, something with core I think?...core graphics?) anyway...does the improved VRAM allow you to see the 'wave' or 'splash' or whatever the effect is called when you choose a new widget? (A test of whether the better graphics are enabled).....
