So maybe not all bad news unless it is a different shape..... do you think it will fit my G4/400? I just hate the idea of it sitting in a drawer until it gets thrown out in ten years' time (like all my other left over ram). The G4 has PC100-2225, PC100-3225 and PC133-333 and one free slot.

On another matter. Last June we were promised broadband but it never happened - too far from exchange. At the time I was given a little USB modem by BT and some very dubious software which were both generally held to be cr*p by those who had an opinion but I never had a chance to use it. BT have come back and said they can probably get it to work now, so I have signed up again, though am not holding my breath. We have been on satellite broadband for the last three and a half years and it is a crippling expense (est. £4k in usage charges + kit), so a cheer will be heard a long way off if it does work. My question is whether anyone has any advice for installing the software for the modem they send me, to avoid the dubiety and the latest thinking on ADSL modems for splitting the signal. I have a router without adsl socket and fancied a router with one is probably the best way to go, though an inexpensive adsl link for my existing router might do if I knew such a thing existed. I had been planning to get an Airport Extreme but assume that will not work with a connection direct to DSL without a modem. Any advice most welcome. Thanks.

Drew

I don't think so - I believe all the G4s use DDR RAM (PC2100/2700) whereas the G3s use PC100/133.
