Mactheripper (no spaces intentionally) is the software to "rip" the DVD removing the RCE and Macrovision protection from there you will need to convert the DVD to a format that is demuxed so you will have access to the soundtrack as a separate element DVDxDV (be aware this will convert the dics content to DV format which is huge) works well. then you need an audio editor to chop up the soundtrack and save out the audio portions you want as 44.1KHz aif files which can then be burnt using toast. Cinematise will allow you to extract just portions of a DVD but it will depend whether you want to spend the money on it for a one off application.

Sorry if this is a bit pushy but does no-one have any comment on this?

Thanks

I wondered if anyone knows an EASY way to rip the soundtrack from a DVD at max quality. I was given three DVDs of music for Christmas and, though the movies which go with the music are great, I would like to be able to play in the car and not have to run DVD player each time. Though they are three complete compositions I would like to have the track splits as well if possible. There are about 6 hrs of music so it would be nice to have a method which allowed me to get on with something else; I have Audio HiJack pro but don't much fancy recording it this way. I presume that as the DVDs were paid for, no-one could have a moral reason for stopping me from doing this.... or commenting :0] If you can legally RIP CDs you have paid for........

Thanks for any thoughts
