I've looked over the suggestions for software to manage our lists, but
what's out there either doesn't do what I want or doesn't have
documentation that explains things clearly. I've outlined how I envision
our multiple email list management program working and posted the
overview at

<http://lemlists.com/lists/>

Other goals for the program:

1. Crystal clear documentation that non-techs and newbies can understand.

2. Ability to configure virtually everything via a browser instead of
having to make any changes to scripts.

I don't know or really care what language the various modules and
functions are written in. I've suggested PHP because it looks like a good
choice, but if something would work better in Perl or another language,
that's great. Issues of program language should be transparent to the end
user anyways, so some hybrid Frankencode monster won't matter to them.

I do envision heavy use of MySQL for handling databases and server access
for storing the body of list messages, which should also keep the MySQL
databases from becoming overly huge.

I'm leaning toward a name like Simple List Manager or Easy List Manager
for this project, since simplicity and ease of use are key goals. All the
power will be under the hood.

Please look over the list and let me know what you think about the goals
and the feasibility of pulling this off.

Thanks!

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary
ingredient in living, it's a way of looking at life through the wrong
end of a telescope and that enables you to laugh at life's realities.
