Hi I've just tried installing m198 PPC from good-day, but after many
attempts, it still refuses to open the basic window. I get a Finder
application entry which appears at the top of the screen, then it just
disappears.
I've deleted my previous 2.0, and 2.1 Application directories.
Is there anyway to try and start OOo from a terminal so I can see what's
going on ? Tried dragging and dropping the droplet icon from the
launcher bar into the terminal window space, but that just made the
droplet icon disappear, instead of the expected Nix/Linux behaviour of
copying the file path and binary name into the terminal window.
BTW, I took the FR dmg, and I still get 2 English messages when the
installation occurs, the first about installing the fonts, the second
about a command timeout error. Personally, I don't mind, but in terms of
localisation, that really isn't brilliant, and has been around at least
since 2.0 hit the servers. Is there no way of localising these messages ?
