In lieu of any US version, I am using the GB version of 680m242 Build 9248, which has been bullet-proof so far. Only thing is how can I import my Options/Preferences from my other OOo versions which will stick? It's a pain to re-set Options whenever testing out new versions.

There should be a folder "OpenOffice.org2" or somewhat like that (depends on your version) in your user's ~/Library/Application Support/" folder. This one holds somewhere a folder "user" - and in this folder all your templates, user options and more of this stuff is stored.

At least for SRC680m242 this UserInstallation directory erroneously points into the installation itself, instead of into your home directory (there is a corresponding entry in Contents/MacOS/bootstraprc, which you could set to an absolute file URL for example). Oliver Braun should know more about this issue (and when it is fixed again).
