Further to my original post:
I changed the 'Select the previous input source' from CMD-Space to
Option-1, which does work in OOo 3 Beta; it is unacceptable, however,
to have to change my system-wide input change shortcut just for the
sake of one software suite. I should be able to re-configure the
shortcuts within OOo (assuming it's that which is causing the
conflict) to something which will be innocuous to my system, right?
My Spotlight shortcuts (Ctrl-Space and Ctrl-Option-Space) do work
within OOo.
So, assuming I've got it right in my understanding of the bug: is
there some way to reconfigure the OOo shortcuts to leave alone the CMD-
Space and CMD-Option-Space shortcut combos for my system use?
BTW, in OOo help, in 'General Shortcut Keys in OpenOffice.org', in
'Selecting Rows and Columns in a Database Table (opened by F4)' I read
that 'Ctrl+spacebar' is for 'Toggles row selection', and 'Shift
+spacebar' is for 'Selects the current column'. Admittedly, it says
it's for Database, not Calc, but I couldn't find any 'Spacebar'
reference in the Calc section of shortcut descriptions in OOo Help. In
my case, however, in Calc, Shift+spacebar selects the current /row/,
not the column, Ctrl-spacebar is given to Spotlight (which I am happy
about, since it's a system-wide shortcut), but Cmd-Spacebar selects
the current column.
So, any help? Thanks, people.

I have MacOS X 10.5.2 running with the Greek language enabled, so I

Alas, it doesn't work. I can only change the input language if I
click on the flag with the mouse, which is a nuisance, as it means I
have to lift my fingers off the keyboard.
Other system keyboard shortcuts seem to work, though. Spotlight does
(Ctrl-Space). Any idea why CMD-Space doesn't?
FWIW, when I'm in Calc and press CMD-Space, a row gets selected. Is
there some Option in OOo to change all this?
Many thanks,
Alex.
