I did add this to the list of showstoppers but someone else took it off for an unknown reason and therefore this issue couldn't be discussed in the release status meeting and so the release happend without the existing more or less trivial fix. Since for the moment it looks like 2.4.1 is the last version to support X11 on the Mac and we don't know if or when there will be a 2.4.2 you have to manually fix this bug.
