Dear OO.org webmaster,
I have finally be successful in finding a download site which allows me to
download OpenOffice.org 3.0 for free.
However, normal links from your website to downloads are greeted with a
dialogue box that redirects to a site that is not free, nor will it allow
donations. Instead it requires a payment of fee before allowing a download.
The problem begins at the download.openoffice.org page. Upon clicking the link
for Mac OXX PPC (US English) or any of the others one is taken to a page
entitled downloads.openoffice.org, and which will allow donations to the cause.
But then a "bouncer" notice appears, bouncing to a page that says you can't
obtain the download at that page, and provides a l ink to a site that requires
payment, but does not offer to take donations.
I wonder if this ruse is a highjacking of your site, or if you are truly in
collaberation with this particular site.
Please advise. I'm reviewing your product for our Macintosh Users Group and
wish to provide accurate information to our members about this product.
Sincerely,
Keith Smith
Secretary
