Hi Robert,

We need to make sure you haven't had a printer failure first.  You may  
want to boot into OS 9, install the printer drivers and confirm that  
your printer is working. If it fails here, your printer may have gone  
belly up assuming your printer cable is OK.

If it works in OS 9, you have a firm basis to troubleshoot your  
problems in OS X.  You seem to have tried almost everything.  I would  
refrain from quickly reinstalling the Epson drivers as that support for  
the 1280 is installed with Jaguar by default.  If you have a problem in  
the future, deleting your printer from Print Center is usually the  
appropriate step to take.

Try running Print Center Repair and see if that does any good.  Check  
back and let us know.
