Hi Folks, Sorry this isn't attached to the prior thread. I was too hasty to delete my email.
John, there are sound problems in 10.2.3. MacFixIt has been covering it with the most recent blurb covered below. Fix for audio problems A poster to the Apple discussion boards has posted a workaround for some of the audio problems apparent after applying the Mac OS X 10.2.3 update. One reader describes his problem: "After using the 10.2.3 updater has no sound, and the Sound Control Pane has no Line In or Line Out hardware, and the volume keys either minimize or maximize the sound level graphic, but still no sound." The workaround involves using an older version of the AppleOnboardAudio.kext (the version included with Mac OS X 10.1.3), which seems to allow at least some system configurations to produce sound throughput under Mac OS X 10.2.3.
