Jeff County will be having computer recycling days on June 7th & 8th. They'll take any electronic item and any item having a cord. They send it off to be broken down into recyclable parts, reclaiming metals, etc.
You could recycle it then and save room in the landfill. I've got two dot matrix printers that I'm holding for that event as well. The only other option would be to contact MTTC (367-2186) and see if they would want your old printer but I doubt it since a new color inkjet could be had for $30-$50. It's worth a try.
