The message I posted a few minutes pointed a problem with some spam
filters. AOL has strong spam filters that often silently reject email
without informing the person to whom it was directed. Apparently the
key words in the example from my previous message were enough to set
them off, and AOL immediately rejected the email. The MacGroup list
administrative address immediately got bounce notices from AOL for
about 25 MacGroup subscribers whose email addresses are at aol.com.
