For those with .Mac accounts , question: on the preference panel in
Panther for iDisk : for copy of your iDisk on your desktop put
check mark .I did this several years ago and all is fine . My iBook
with Tiger has a preference panel saying essentially the same, however
when I started to make a copy for desktop, the synching quit after a
few seconds, but then this prevented me from shutting the computer
down. After force quitting a number of times I made a renewed attempt
today , this time calling tech help. They had me do a total reinstall.
Now I do have the little icon on my desktop, but the preference panel
still says synching is turned off and if I want to ---- and I know if I
click allow to sync, I shall have the shut-down problem again.
Any Guru helpful, the tech help at Apple told me they could not help (
the first time this happened, but I shall not stop with them telling
me that.) ---- So how about it ,Shoun, or Lee, or whoever has a .mac
account, any Apple Specialist explain this to me, for as soon as I hit
that little synch button on the tiger preference panel, I shall
encounter the shut-down problem and the mirror agent will not shut
down till eternity, it isn't one of those wait a few minutes deals.
It isn't that I need to click on it for my synching to work, I just say
that this panel and the Sync process are out of sync
