Jeff:

I have an HP 3330 laser at home that's on the network with three Macs.
I had to buy an external print server in order to get it on the
network. HP, of course, recommends the JetDirect version, but I bought
a generic one at CompUSA for $40 or so and it works fine. Just plug the
USB cable into the print server and hook the print server up to the
network with an ethernet cable.

It's been a good printer/copier.

I have not had much luck with the networked fax/scanner features using
this arrangement, however. It faxes and scans fine on it's own, but
doesn't communicate well over the network for those functions. A
JetDirect may work better for those purposes.
