Dang!  Well, I'm older than that ... left in '78.  I guess the odd 
people I encountered were ordinary odd people - myself having learned 
to stay away from mirrors.  I bet it would be interesting to more than 
a few people if a simple as possible, complete as possible, timeline of 
Erdos' travels were created.  A biography I read about him several 
years ago gave some hint, but I sensed it was only a fraction.

Actually, I seem to recall that he participated in more than a few 
papers with results that could have been used to evaluate the 
efficiency of his travel routes.  The rivers and bridges thing, for 
example, enhanced my ability to usefully simplify problems that seem, 
at first blush, to be complex.
