This started out with CDs and DVDs and I thought I had a bad CD Drive as I had had problems with CDs burning too. I could hear the CD spinning in the drive, but the image never mounted.
Then I was trying to copy over and work with some pictures from my XD media card for my digital camera and I kept getting a message when I opened the files in PhotoShop that the file had been truncated. (These same cards and pictures worked fine on my laptop.) Today I went to use my USB jump drive and it won't mount either. In all cases if I use Disk Utility I can see that the CD, media card, jump drive, etc. are available and the mount and unmount buttons are available to me, but I never see a disk image on my desktop. I did check the finder preferences to make sure that removable media are set to show up on the desktop and I trashed and replaced the finder preferences file in case it was corrupt. I've run Disk Utility and Cocktail on my machine and I still have the same problem. Any advice on what would keep these images from showing up? -- Thanks, Beth > From: macgroup-digest <owner-macgroup-digest at erdos.math.louisville.edu> > Reply-To: "macgroup at erdos.math.louisville.edu" > <macgroup at erdos.math.louisville.edu> > Date: Tue, 2 May 2006 17:15:01 -0400 > To: <macgroup-digest at erdos.math.louisville.edu> > Subject: macgroup-digest V2 #1166 > > > macgroup-digest Tuesday, May 2 2006 Volume 02 : Number 1166 > > > > > Re: MacGroup: iPhoto Automator action > MacGroup: Macgroup - G4 Lithium Battery > Re: MacGroup: Macgroup - G4 Lithium Battery > MacGroup: 750Gb miniStack V2 > MacGroup: Mac/PC the Apple Ads > Re: MacGroup: Macgroup - G4 Lithium Battery > MacGroup: Insight's sales campaign... > MacGroup: Insight sales campaign... > Re: MacGroup: Insight's sales campaign... > Re: MacGroup: Mac/PC the Apple Ads > Re: MacGroup: Mac/PC the Apple Ads > _ > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Date: Mon, 01 May 2006 22:43:15 -0400 > From: Anne Cartwright <cartwrig at aye.net> > Subject: Re: MacGroup: iPhoto Automator action > > Note: The following section was composed using a keyboard (ISO-8859-1; > format=flowed) > that uses characters other than those in the US-ASCII character set.
