actually, it looks as if I won't have to sell my powerbook to get a  
MacBook.
Shortly after writing the post, I started having issues with the  
screen on the unit.
Called Apple once again, and was expecting to send the unit in for  
repair. The tech on the other end said that my account showed that  
I've had issues with the powerbook in the past, so he was ordering a  
replacement model for me.
Only problem is that because of the MacBook introduction, there is no  
more PowerBook 12".

the next closest alternative was the new black MacBook. I have to box  
up my powerbook and send it in tomorrow, and when they have the fed  
ex tracking number, they are going to ship me out my new MacBook.

I suppose that I can't complain about troubles with Apple products  
when I get an upgrade like that...
