Hello, File and disk maintenance by the MacOS works fine. However, to my knowledge, no defraging of unused disk space (free space) is performed, and this can be a worthwhile occasional operation using other tools. I use Coriolis' iDefrag, found at <http://www.coriolis-systems.com/>, probably about $35 USD, after currency conversion.
