It just occurred to me that with all of my data loss this week, some  
of it may be recoverable.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but when a computer "erases" data, it  
generally isn't really gone until it's overwritten. Is that the case?
If so, then my backup drive that was "erased" then started to  
reinstall when everything crashed might still have some of my files  
since the backup never got around to writing my user files.

Does anyone think that it may be possible to recover the data from the  
backup? I know the macbook drive that crashed is gone, but this one  
may be salvagable, right?

Anyone know of any mac software that might facilitate this?
