Be this neither scientific or reliable so I'll publish it anyway.

I always understood that the first car race was when Henry Ford built the
second Model T, most likely, so how does that differ from a race between Apples
and Oranges, or AT&T & Verizon?

I have the original iPad on AT&T, max. memory and 3g. When Verizon came out
with the iPad I waited until Ver. 2 of the iPad was released and got my wife
that model, max memory and 3g.

So the results will be unfair due to the boxes themselves but what I found
today was interesting.

When I first purchased the second iPad from Verizon I laid both in my lap, had
both open to the same website, and simultaneously hit the refresh button. No
contest, the Verizon unit was considerably faster and that I attributed to the
dual processor as they both were on the same WiFi.

Today was the first trip we had taken since having both boxes, I took each unit
with us. We were out in the boonies, somewhere between Ferdinand & Jasper
Indiana. Two lane road with not much but cows and water. Both boxes had two
bars so I held the AT&T unit in front of me (naturally I couldn't see the
road.......I expect some hollering) and I went to a site that has a table as
it's display and several graphic items as well. Both boxes had been to the
site many times so if there is a cache they each would have the same advantage.

I used the AT&T first, it took literally 5 min. + to load the site, so long
that my wife ask me what I was reading. I didn't think about using the clock
to time this thing or I would have done so, whew it was slow.

Once done I picked up her Verizon model and loaded the same site, well under a
minute. I couldn't believe it. This thing is fast, even with just two bars
and 3g rather than 4g. Once we reached our destination I used the camera on
the iPad for the first time. It opens instantly, and I can only compare that
with the camera on my 3gs iPhone, which is very slow to open, the iPad was
instant. I took the picture then emailed it to the person we had met earlier
in the day, thanking her for her help. By then we were in Montgomery, IN and
not much there but a gas station and Amish. The photo inside the email left
almost as fast as if doing it on WiFi.

I was impressed and wanted to share the improvements in the latest model, no
wonder this thing is getting great reviews.
