Hello Fellow MAC users. I am writing to bring some exciting news to you. Many of you probably remember the Louisville Computer Society - LCS - (www.kymac.org) and how much it helped the MAC community here in Metro Louisville. Some of the new members of this mailing list may not have heard of it at all, and I am sure there are a number of list members who were not only active but served in some capacity in guiding and moving LCS along over the years.
On Tuesday September 20, 2011 LCS 2.0 is going live. Of course the website has been up and running and this mailing list is on going. On that Tuesday though we are having a re-launch meeting for the Louisville Computer Society 2.0. It will be from 6:30 till 8:30 PM at the MacAuthority of Louisville, 128 Breckinridge Lane in St. Matthews. That is on Breckinridge just off Shelbyville Rd. Jeffery Jewell the manager there has graciously extended the building use for meetings of the LCS. This will be the first meeting after some time of inactivity for LCS and as such it will be for a lot of face to face social networking, finding out who is interested in helping to run LCS. There are many opportunities for the MAC community members here in the Metro Louisville area to step up and work in the group to guide it; develop programs for meetings; work a Q & A desk at the meetings; and any number of other area of organization operation. What can you do now? Mark you calendar for the LCS 2.0 Re-Launch Meeting; Tuesday September 20, 2011. Make plans to be there. Tell two more MAC users about it and bring them to the meeting. Forward the body of this letter to everyone you know who is a MAC user and NOT on this listserv. Things LCS will need to make it as successful as it was in the past: YOU As An Active Member Governing Committee Outstanding Program Each meeting MAC users to man a Q & A Desk at meetings Run/Host SIG meetings during the month for users interests Support of the MAC community Let us know you plan on attending by sending an e-mail to: [email protected] saying you'll be there and let us know of any special interest you have in helping LCS 2.0. Those of us who have been working on this for past few weeks are really excited about getting the LCS going again as the premier users group in the Metro Louisville area. We will be sending out more details as our meeting date approaches. Richard Meadows
