Harry,

After a bit off futzing around, I now have my calendar and address book syncing
via iCloud on my iPad, iPhone and MacBook Pro. I found the instructions for
moving from MobileMe to iCloud confusing, but finally got it to work.

A few tips:

If you have two (or more) Apple IDs — I had two — be sure you pick just one of
them to use when setting up iCloud and calendar/address syncing on all devices.
I found it easiest to use my iTunes account name and password rather then the
one I had set up for my .me account.

Disable your MobileMe account after you've set up iCloud on all devices.

Be very careful about deleting calendar or contact data when/if you get prompts
asking if you want to delete them from either iCloud or your Mac. I made the
mistake of answering "yes" to one of those and wiped out all my previously
entered calendar data. I found those delete choices very confusing, and I'm
still not sure what I did wrong.

If you've set up iCloud on two or more devices and find that they aren't
syncing, try shutting all of them down and restarting. I pulled my hair out for
an hour or two trying to get syncing to work before doing that, and everything
started working fine after the restarts.

It's a brave new world (again!); all we can do is embrace it and keep our
fingers crossed.

Dan
