I had a good friend call me Saturday, he had to share this with someone who would understand….
Only Geeks get excited about a checkout system…right? He first wanted to ask if I thought Apple had one of the best methods of checking out of Retail, of course they do! Most anyone on the floor can use their iPhone to check you out. Very simple and cuts down on huge lines. He had just been to Macy’s for a pair of shoes. They were on sale, had to have a managers approval, the entire process took 30 min….WOW. Then to the Apple store to get a new cover for his iPhone 5S and school began. NOW Apple will allow you to take your Apple App and CHECK YOURSELF OUT. Really. If the product you are getting is not an Apple product, that requires a serial number to register the product, you are allowed to open the Apple App Store App, join the Apple WIFI and then scan the product with your iPhone camera. It will ask for your iTunes password, and thank you for the purchase, telling you the receipt will be in your iTunes account. Walk out the door!! My friend ask how in the world could Apple allow this? The rep said, we aren’t worried, why would an Apple customer steal from us? This is too cool, it’s simply unbelievable that we can handle the entire process ourselves….how much easier can it be? With Apple I would say….wait and see!! John
