On iOS you have to do a total wipe and set up your iDevice as new to do a total 
clean like on the Mac.

Thanks for this. However, some email addresses were changed months ago and when 
I am in the throes of writing emails I don't realize that I have chosen an 
email address which is no longer valid. Is there a way to clear the buffer of 
all email addresses and start over???
