Check
settings-
Mail, Contacts, Calendars-
scroll down to calendar settings, and look for the ‘sync’ setting,
there are choices, 'sync events 2 weeks back, 1 month back, 3 months back, 6 
months back, all events’
I don’t know if that will solve your issue, but that may be a factor.
