Interesting. When I received the TiVo box from my brother, I hooked it up to a
TV on the first floor of our 3 story brick house to test it out. That’s when
the pixilation occured. This evening we moved the box up to the 3rd floor
(which is framed with wood as the brick only reaches 2 ft off the floor. I
hooked up the TiVo to the coaxial and connected the TiVo to the tv. There was
no pixilation on any of the channels. But I figured, to be on the safe side, I
would hook the hi-pass filter up anyway. Well, to my surprise the signal on all
the channels was breaking up and pixilated (I don’t know if that’s the right
word). I’m guessing there is nothing to compensate for on the third floor and
ergo, the filter’s electronics aren’t counteracted by other signals and create
havoc with the picture.

Very interesting.
