John, Mine is a Mac mini, mid-2010 (Macmini4.1) — previously running MacOS X ver. 10.13.2, updated using the AppStore’s link. No install oddities.
Alert showed an AppStore update available for MacOS X ver. 10.13.3; d/l accomplished without any additional alerts or problems. Install observations showed nothing unusual. Restart seemed fine.
