W. Scott Hayes said the following on 03/06/10 16:11:

<event-mapping event="fail" mapping="somethingBad" redirect="true" />

It's been proposed before, however it's something that Team Mach-II decided was bad grammar. Also, in order to support all the options available in to redirectEvent(), we would have to add about 10 new attributes to the event-mapping command -- greatly complicating the command.

If we added this, would you still have to use "redirectEvent()" in your listener? If you were just looking at the listener code if there was a redirect flag on the <event-mapping> command, you couldn't tell if it was a redirecteven() or announceEvent(). On the flip side, you confuse your listener code because suddenly announceEvent() can now perform a redirect.
