That's OK. When you vote reform next
time, I'll cancel your vote by voting Liberal. ;-)

Here's what I just sent to my MP. If you want to do the same,
here's where to find your MP's contact info:

I read
with absolute disgust about the Prime Ministers mandate that MPs must support
the gun registry funding bill next week, or face expulsion. I am sick and
tired of our Prime Minister acting as a dictator, forcing through whatever
opinions he wishes upon the populace of Canada. The mandate of MPs is to bring
the views of their constituents to Parliament, to ensure the decisions made by
our government support the opinions and wishes of the populace. However,
Chretien is now subverting and circumventing this by forcing MPs to vote the
way he wants them to, regardless of the wishes of the Canadian
citizenry.
Whether or not I support the gun registry (which I most
certainly do not, it is a massive, flawed boondoggle, universally panned and
criticized as useless and unenforceable by even our own police forces), it
still does not forgive this blatant abuse of power by our Prime Minister. I am
asking you to stand up for what government is intended to do, and encourage
other Members to do the same.
Sincerely,
Scott
MacLean
