Though the message is unclear I suspect that it's simply because you *can't* share audio CDs. The computer that the CD is on handles the playing of the audio directly from the disc, so it probably wouldn't do you any good to get an icon for the CD mounted on another Mac even if you could.
Regarding your other question about the size of the CD, it reports a very small file size because it doesn't count audio data when calculating file sizes. It's only giving you info on the icons that *represent* the tracks on the CD, but not the tracks themselves. You might try out the application "CD Server" (Disclaimer: I have never used this before.) It isn't exactly what you were asking for but you may find it useful. CD server "lets you control the audio CD drive of one macintosh from another computer", according to the web site. http://www.elegantchaos.com/software/cdserver.html Also, if I remember correctly, in Mac OS X the track icons are seen as AIFF files and can be dragged off to your hard drive and thus will still play even when the CD is not in the drive.
