yes, some of the gator boxes can bridge ethernet to local talk and provide a serial port for a printer. i've got 2 of them myself that i'll be using when i set up my network (i have played with them enough to test them), as a bonus most of them have a print buffer so it doesn't slow down your machine as much talking to the printer, the print buffer gets full and the gatorbox worries about waiting for the printer. these are frequently available on ebay. the software and the back doors to reset the passwords etc. on the gator boxes is also posted as the product is considered obsolete. it's really great that the maker has provided all of this free for the old hardware. if you can't find the software let me know, i've downloaded all of it since these resources sometimes disappear. i'd also be happy to look up the link if anyone needs it. no doubt there are also other brands of bridges that will also do this. in any case check the cayman site for the specs, i think it's cayman.com or something easy to guess, if not you can always do a web search or let me know what you need. best of all they're usually cheap. you might also post a wanted post on the swap list, i suspect some people have extra's laying around.
