Hi
I have an old 16 MHz '030 IIvi into which I put a Sonnet Presto card
(40MHz 68040) and it worked very well. 10 times faster. I even went
up to 8.0 which was working and was stable. My son enthused!

I then got hold of an old LCIII, bought an LC ethernet card on ebay
and connected LCIII to an imac without any problems. Running 7.6.1

The IIvi and the LCIII worked on an Appletalk network of sorts. Two
of my sons played network games but I could never get one to be a
server for the other and so couldn't swop files.

I then got a Farrallon NB Etrhernet card on ebay and then my problems
started. I had hoped I could set up a network of the three machines
and but I have never managed to get the card to work satisfactorily.
I took the card out and unloaded the Farrallon software. Now Open
Transport wouldn't load! and the machine kept crashing as it loaded
the extensions unless I took out some of the OT extensions.

Now it will not even Appletalk because it tells me OT hasn't loaded.
I have reverted to 7.6 on IIVi but it made no difference. I have
reinitialised my hard drives and reinstalled the system software but
all to no avail.

Help! What can I do next?

Chuckles

(Well I was before these problems happened!)
