Paul is correct in that when your emailer sends out a lengthy URL 
surrounded by < and >, it will remain a single character string. However, 
what your email client does with it varies from program to program. Most 
follow the industry standard and understand that the whole bit between < 
and > is a URL, but some email clients are not so well written.
