Very interesting. I had exactly the opposite experience. I also had road runner, and my speeds there were comparable to yours. I'm now using Frontier's DSL. My max speed there was 1.7 megabit downloads. My wife's computer has seen speeds in excess of 2.5 megabits. My only complaint with the DSL is the upload speeds. RR definitely has me beat there.
