Someone's blowin' smoke.  Cox should not use 192.168.0.0/16 (192.168.0.0 
- 192.168.255.255 inclusive) addresses for any purpose. That range of 
address is reserved for private networks. For confirmation see RFC 1918 
which governs IP Address assignments. Pay particular attention to 
section 3. <http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1918.html>

Are you using a router?  Is it set to do DHCP?  If so, take a look at 
your router's configuration page and see what the IP address and the 
gateway addresses are. (Fer instance, my dial-up connection is 
216.228.196.116, while my machine is 192.168.0.102. To the world, I'm at 
the former number and to me I'm at the latter. My router performs the 
translation.)

Just for grins, send me a p-mail so I can see where it's *really* coming 
from.
