Since you can see the G4 in the 7.5 chooser, you have the AppleTalk protocol running on the G4. But there is another place in OS X where you have to turn on AppleTalk file sharing, which is off by default. Someone wrote a free or shareware utility to help configure file sharing on OS X, but the name escapes me.
