yes, thru the Ethernet connector which is how I set my AE up. It can act like a Wireless Access Point with a NAT firewire wall. However, it has very limited range (50 ft comes to mind). So, it's not as robust as the Apple Base Station Extreme or other similar wireless routers.
AE was designed for bridging your wireless router to your stereo system and serve as a traveling routing for hotel rooms. Another outstanding capability is AE's multiple "location" configurations which you can define and select with the Airport Admin Utility - sorta like OS 9's Location Manager. I bought it for those reasons. Right now, I'm replying to this email on my PowerBook which is serving my stereo system with music from iTunes. I use a Netgear Wireless Router (WGR624v1) and the AE works as expected with it. Next week, it goes with my PB and me on a business trip. Life is good! All in all, AE is a terrific buy. --Dwight --- Dan Knight <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On 8/7/04 3:35 PM, Don and Jan Stowe posted: > > >Can the Airport Extreme be connected via a LAN to > my 7600/G3 running > >OS 9.1 or is OS X required? > > The hub?
