The LCII/LC580 classroom network is gone. <tears and a deep sigh or two> In its place, a PC lab. I have been asked if I can figure out how to use the old Apple LWIIg workhorse as the network printer for the 20 PC's. Can it be done?

What ports did this printer have? Appletalk only? Or a parallel port as well? Ethernet? If Appletalk only, you'll need something like an Asante ethernet->Localtalk bridge. Quite a few of these still exist and likely can be had for $20 or so on Ebay. If the latter two, just hook one PC up via the parallel port and you should be good to go via File/Printer sharing in Windows. Windows has had good drivers for Apple printers as those printers had Canon print engines which HP also used for their printers.
