Hi David
I'll try that as sonn as I get off the net, I gather I
will need to 
change
that setting each time as I
use the G3 for email.

There is something called location manager in OS 9. I
really don't know if it is in OS 8. It is usefull for
changing settings quickly for different
configurations. For instance I have one location for
file sharing that sets the TCP to ethernet. Then I
have another location set for modem, and that one sets
the TCP to PPP.
I have the location manager in the control strip for
quick and easy access.
