One other point, these days it's hardly more expensive to buy a switch (which gives the same functionality as a hub, but without splitting up the signal into fractional pieces) than a hub. With a switch you get the full throughput of the network to each connected device, with a hub each time you connect another device that raises the size of the denominator by which your network speed is being divided...

if the router only has 3 Cat 5 ports or less you will need hub. you need
to plug router uplink port into modem. plug each computer into a free
cat 5 port. follow directions to set up router.


We're usings OS X.3
