iBooks Revved to 700MHz G3s

ATI Radeon Mobility with 16MB VRAM, S-video out.
Apple today released updated iBooks with two 700MHz models, a base 600MHz spec, and
S-Video out across the range (with the optional adapter).
There have been no screen revisions - the ''good'' and ''better'' models retain the
12.1" display, while the ''best'' model continues with the 14.1" screen. Both the
12.1" and 14.1" iBooks with the 700MHz CPU get the DVD/CDRW Combo drive.
Big news is the larger 512K cache (versus 256K) and a 16MB Radeon Mobility graphics
chipset, which is probably the bare minimum for running Jaguar''s Quartz Extreme
adequately in OS X. The base and intermediate models also get bigger hard drives
(20GB), while the 14.1" gets a 30GB.
Prices are $1,199 (12.1"/600MHz/CD-ROM)
$1,499 (12.1"/700MHz/DVD-CDRW)
$1,799 (14.1"/700NHz/DVD-CDRW)

Analysis: Is this enough to get you driving a new iBook? Time to pass up that Pismo?
The graphics card does make it a more attractive buy. But how about a DVD drive on the
base model, Apple?
