SmartDisk Fire-Sales PowerBook Expansion Bay Products, Cheap DVD-Rs
By Remy Davison, Insanely Great Mac
May 29th 2002
Portable CDRWs, PowerBook battery chargers and more - for cheap.
It might be the last chance you have to get that expansion bay drive that you lusted
after for your Pismo, Lombard or Wallstreet.
SmartDisk has discounted its range of expansion bay devices for these models at prices
often lower than a bare 2.5" hard drive.
6GB hard drives for all G3 Series PowerBooks are $29.97, with 8, 10, 12, 18 and 30GB
capacities all available, at prices up to $119.97. The latter is about what you''ll
pay for a bare 30GB drive. 4GB drives for Pismo/Lombard only are $23.97.
Removable disk drives are also available, with 100MB Zip drives for all G3 Series for
$29.97 and SuperDisk drives (which read/write floppy disks and 120MB SuperDisks) are
also $29.97. Zip 250 modules are also available, along with expansion bay CDRWs
($119.97) and DVD-ROM kits (PCMCIA card and drive) for 333MHz Lombards ($119.97).
SmartDisk is also offering 5-packs of DVD-R discs (which aren''t refurbished,
obviously) for $17.99.
Laptop battery chargers for the PowerBook 1400, iBook, and PowerBook G3s are also on
sale.
Note that that these are refurbished products, although the company claims this has
been done under "stringent quality control."
