X bytes: HP pushes back scanner support

A round up of recent X-compatible releases and updates
� Previously HP had said that X-compatible drivers for its scanners would be available
in the Spring. The company now, however, says that said drivers won''t be available
until Summer.
X-compatibility information on other HP products, notably printers, is available here.
� Griffin has apparently solved installation problems with its latest iMate driver X
software with an update release (v1.5.1) - here. The initial release of this software
caused numerous problems. Information on recovering therefrom can be had at MacFixit.
� Intelli Innovations has released Barcode Automator 1.0 for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.
Barcode Automator is barcode generation software specially designed for bulk barcode
creation and automation. A powerful, easy-to-use interface, coupled with AppleScript
support allows users to create thousands of barcodes quickly and efficiently. This
program is available for US$330.
� Vincent Jalby has released an update of his X Font Manager, a simple font manager
for Mac OS X. It allows users activate and deactivate fonts by moving them in and out
the Fonts folders. Users can save several (global) sets and switch between them. This
software is available for US$12.00
� Max Programming has updated Web Dumper to v1.5.2. This program allows a user to
download an entire website, including media files. The latest release includes
improved User Agent settings control, user adjustable timeout settings and a new
preferences file type selector.
